The program system consists of three computational methods, which allows to compute in one computational run the transition location in one wing section of large aspect ratio wings (Transport type aircraft). The first method computes the laminar boundary layer development on tapered wings in conical coordinates. The second and third method are e* data base methods for the calculation of the Tollmien-Schlichting instabilities and cross-flow instabilities, respectively. Compared to the computation of the stability data using local, linear stability codes the data base methods need a vanishing fraction of the computational time and moreover ask for almost no engineering effort. The main advantage of the data base methods is due to the fact, that they work fully automatically, which is not feasible applying classical stability codes.
