Results of position detection and deformation analysis in both low-speed flows and transonic flows are presented. The position detection system of DLR has been jointly developed with LaVision GmbH / Göttingen. Boundary conditions for numerical simulations as well as the effective angle of attack and angle of roll are derived from measurements on a delta airfoil. The result of deformation analysis of flaps under wind load in transonic flows is presented. The measurements have been accomplished in a rotating frame of reference. Estimates of measurement accuracy and perspectives for application of our system in European wind tunnels are given.
