Interaction of flows in the vicinity of three different jet configurations, ejecting air from a flat plate in supersonic cross flow were investigated experimentally and numerically. The test conditions include the variation of jet pressure ratios up to p0j/pV = 245 at a Mach number of MV = 5 and a unit Reynolds number of Re1V = 38e106 m-1. The investigated test cases are: a) single jet; b) 4 jets positioned in-line in main flow direction; c) 4 jets positioned side-by-side in span-wise direction. The nozzle diameters for all cases are chosen in a way that the same cross-section areas (mass flows) are granted. The surface pressure is predicted quite well, but there are certain deficiencies regarding the heat flux. The results of the comparison are presented and discussed and the experimental data are used to validate the applied code.
