Abstract

Aeroacoustic problems will become more important in the future e.g. cars, buildings and of course jet engine flows at aircrafts. According to the acoustic analogy of Lighthill the flow of a turbulent free jet is replaced by classical acoustic multipols. Therefore the aerodynamical noise problem can be reduced to the solution of the classical wave equation with sources. By means of space-time-correlations it is possible to obtain the Lighthill tensor, which contains the information about the sound caused by fluctuations of velocity components.
