MultiSat-WebService is the concept for a web-based multipurpose satellite service consisting of an on demand in-orbit configurable payload. It covers all value chains as an end-to-end scenario from customer to system infrastructure. Main objective is to achieve a maximum broad applicability of the payload configuration for user defined value-added information services with best access to the market via internet. The mission statement of MultiSat-WebService for mobility and traffic is to provide actual information of a selected region for traffic management purposes and monitoring of mobile objects at any time and from anywhere via modern media. Usually satellite based networks are dedicated to special tasks like telecommunications or observation purposes. Often they are implemented as low earth orbit satellite constellations (LEO). However, value added information services with a specific relevance for different market segments like traffic management, event surveillance or disaster management mostly require a combined payload system consisting of capabilities in the areas of communications, earth observation and navigation.
